This Privacy Policy explains how TalentHunter Ltd, a company registered in Ireland (company number 786317) ("TalentHunter", "we", "us", "our"), collects and uses personal data when you use the platform at www.talenthunter.me. TalentHunter is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact us about privacy at info@talenthunter.me.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to candidates and job seekers, to employers and their users, and to visitors to our website.
2. The personal data we collect
Account data: name, email address, password, and account settings.
Candidate profile and application data: CV, work history, skills, education, role preferences, and the content of your applications.
Employer data: company details, job postings, and the details of users acting for an employer.
Usage and device data: how you use the platform, collected in part through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
We ask you not to submit special category data (for example data about health, religion, or nationality) unless it is necessary, and we do not require it to use the platform.
3. How we use your data, and our lawful bases
We use personal data to:
Provide the platform, create and manage your account, and process applications (lawful basis: performance of a contract).
Analyse CVs and match candidates to roles using AI assisted tools (lawful basis: our legitimate interests in operating an effective recruitment platform, balanced against your rights, and performance of a contract).
Share data with our immigration partner where you opt in to sponsorship support (lawful basis: your consent, see section 5).
Communicate with you, provide support, and send service messages (lawful basis: contract and legitimate interests).
Meet legal obligations and protect the platform against fraud and misuse (lawful basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests).
Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Where we rely on legitimate interests you can object.
4. How we use AI, and your rights over AI decisions
Our platform uses AI to assist human recruiters, not to replace them.
A human recruiter reviews AI recommendations before any decision that affects you, and no candidate is rejected solely by automated processing.
We tell you when you are interacting with an AI system, and we label AI generated and AI assisted content.
Where an AI assisted assessment significantly affects you, you can request a clear and meaningful explanation of the main factors, and you can request human review.
We ignore protected characteristics and monitor our systems for bias.
These measures reflect the General Data Protection Regulation (including the safeguards around automated decision making) and the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), under which recruitment tools are treated as high risk, with those obligations applying from 2 December 2027. We are preparing for them and apply voluntary measures as a participant in the EU AI Pact.
5. Sharing your data with third parties
We share personal data only as needed to run the platform and provide our services:
Employers. When you apply for a role, the relevant application data is shared with the employer that posted it.
Service providers. We use trusted providers to host and operate the platform. They process data on our instructions under written contracts and only for the purposes we set.
Visa and permit sponsorship support (Lewis Silkin). Some roles offer visa and permit sponsorship support provided by our partner, a third party immigration services provider, Lewis Silkin Ireland LLP. Where you accept an offer on a role that offers sponsorship support and you explicitly opt in, we share a defined and minimal set of your details with Lewis Silkin so that they can contact you and provide immigration services. We do not transmit special category data such as nationality or immigration status. This sharing happens only on your explicit opt in, your consent is recorded, and after the introduction the immigration relationship is directly between you, the employer, and Lewis Silkin. Lewis Silkin acts as an independent controller of the data it receives and handles it under its own privacy notice.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
We store and process personal data within the European Economic Area where possible. If any data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here, including to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it. Data shared for sponsorship support is retained by each party in line with the data sharing arrangement between TalentHunter and Lewis Silkin.
8. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data erased;
restrict or object to certain processing;
receive your data in a portable format;
withdraw consent where we rely on it; and
not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and, in relation to AI assisted decisions, to receive an explanation and human review.
To exercise any of these rights, contact info@talenthunter.me. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie). In relation to the EU AI Act, you can raise concerns with the relevant national competent authority or through the European Commission's AI Act complaint tool.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the platform, analyse traffic, and improve your experience. You can manage your preferences through our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and logging. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any personal data breach.
11. Children
The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material we will give reasonable notice, for example by posting an updated version with a new last updated date.
