Job Description:

Overview

We are exclusively partnering with a leading, fast-paced ACCA-accredited practice to recruit a high-caliber Client Accountant based in Swords, Co. Dublin. Following significant organic growth, this firm is seeking a commercially minded finance professional who can bridge the gap between technical accounting and high-level client advisory.

This is not a back-office processing role. You will join a highly regarded practice that operates as a proactive business partner to high-earning contractors and business owners across the IT and Pharma sectors. The role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients, provide meaningful financial insight, and contribute to the continued growth of a dynamic and ambitious practice.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review management accounts, year-end accounts, and supporting schedules for a varied client portfolio.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing clear guidance on accounting, tax, and business performance matters.
  • Manage client relationships proactively, ensuring deadlines are met and service levels remain exceptional.
  • Support contractors, consultants, and owner-managed businesses with company accounts, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, and VAT/tax-related information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client processes, strengthen financial controls, and add value through advisory insight.
  • Contribute to the development of the firm’s client service offering as the practice continues to scale.

What Makes This Role Unique

  • You will work in a client-facing position with real influence, not a transactional processing environment.
  • The role offers exposure to a high-quality portfolio spanning fast-moving sectors such as IT and Pharma.
  • You will be part of an ACCA-accredited practice with a strong reputation for technical excellence and commercial thinking.
  • This is an opportunity to join at a growth stage and make a visible impact within a supportive, ambitious team.
  • The position suits an accountant who enjoys combining technical work with relationship management and strategic advisory.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience preferred.
  • Strong background in practice accounting, ideally with exposure to client accounting, advisory, or outsourced finance services.
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts, statutory accounts, and financial reports for multiple clients.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge, with a solid understanding of compliance, reporting standards, and financial controls.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently.
  • Commercial mindset and the ability to provide practical advice that supports client decision-making.
  • High level of accuracy, organisation, and ability to manage deadlines across a busy portfolio.
  • Experience working with contractors, SMEs, or clients in professional services, IT, or Pharma sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable taking ownership of client relationships.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary aligned to experience and market standards.
  • Opportunity to work with a respected ACCA-accredited practice experiencing strong growth.
  • Client-facing role with genuine advisory responsibility and career development potential.
  • Exposure to a high-quality and diverse portfolio of contractor and business-owner clients.
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture with scope to contribute ideas and shape service delivery.
  • Professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Modern office environment in Swords, Co. Dublin with a fast-paced and ambitious working culture.
