Overview

Due to continued growth, new contracts, and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s Tier 1 Main Contractors is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for large-scale apartment projects in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to be part of a firm that offers long-term career prospects in a supportive environment.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of projects either independently or as part of a team while reporting to the Commercial Manager and relevant Project Directors.
  • Provide assistance to the Estimating department in pricing and estimating projects as needed.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders consistently, maintaining relationships while ensuring the company’s commercial and contractual entitlements are protected.
  • Identify and manage project risks effectively.
  • Oversee, manage, and coach junior and intermediate quantity surveyors, including checking and taking responsibility for their work.
  • Procure subcontractor/supplier packages, including analysis, appointment, and management until project completion.
  • Compile interim valuations, record change orders, and issue costs to clients and PQS in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate final accounts with clients and the supply chain.
  • Develop value engineering options and present cost-saving alternatives to clients and design teams.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • A relevant 3rd level Quantity Surveying degree qualification.
  • Proven track record in delivering residential projects successfully.
  • Demonstrated responsibility and accountability, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry and building technology methods.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with exceptional time management skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in dealings with clients, design teams, and supply chains.
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications and QS/Estimating software such as Global Buildsoft and Cost X.
