Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Depending on your specialty and the available assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Delivering safe, evidence-based nursing or midwifery care in line with Australian clinical standards and facility policies.
• Assessing patient needs, monitoring clinical conditions, and responding appropriately to changes in presentation.
• Administering medications and treatments, and maintaining accurate documentation and handover records.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality patient outcomes.
• Providing care in a variety of settings, which may include general medical and surgical wards, perioperative services, emergency departments, ICU, aged care, maternity, and specialist units.
• Adapting quickly to new clinical environments, workflows, and patient populations during agency shifts or short-term contracts.
• Maintaining infection prevention, safety, and compliance standards at all times.
• Completing agency and facility-specific requirements, including mandatory checks, vaccinations, and certifications.

• Recognised qualification in nursing or midwifery from Ireland, the UK, Australia, or another approved jurisdiction.
• Current registration with AHPRA/NMBA, or eligibility to obtain Australian registration.
• For UK and Ireland-trained nurses/midwives: eligibility for Australia’s streamlined registration pathway, subject to AHPRA/NMBA requirements.
• Appropriate Australian visa and legal work rights at the time of placement.
• Recent and relevant clinical experience in one or more acute, subacute, community, aged care, maternity, or specialist settings.
• Ability to meet Scrubs’ compliance requirements, including police checks, vaccination records, screening documentation, and any required certifications.
• Strong clinical judgment, patient-centred care skills, and the ability to work safely in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, adaptability, and professional documentation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts across metropolitan, regional, or rural locations in Australia, depending on availability and preference.
