Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Customer Account Manager to join the commercial team in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sustainable, profitable growth across a portfolio of iconic brands with key retail partners in the Irish market. You will play a central role in managing strategic customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering against revenue, distribution, and market share objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with key retail customers, acting as the main commercial contact for assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute customer account plans aligned to brand, revenue, and market share objectives.
  • Drive distribution growth, promotional activity, and category performance across key accounts.
  • Negotiate trading terms, promotional agreements, and commercial plans to deliver profitable growth.
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, supply chain, finance, and operations to ensure excellent customer service and execution.
  • Prepare customer presentations, business reviews, forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Support joint business planning and ensure delivery of agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally, maintaining strong long-term relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in account management, sales, commercial management, or key account management within FMCG, retail, or a related commercial environment.
  • Proven experience managing key retail accounts and delivering revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to analyse sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable account plans.
  • Experience preparing and delivering customer presentations, business reviews, and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM or sales reporting tools.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to customer sites as required.
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
