Overview

We are seeking a skilled and professional Sous Chef / Line Cook to join a high-volume kitchen team in the United States. In this role, you will prepare food to exact chef specifications, support station setup and service execution, and work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth daily operations. This position is ideal for a reliable culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values consistency and quality, and takes pride in contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and kitchen organization while helping deliver a positive dining experience for every guest.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock kitchen stations with all necessary supplies before service begins.
  • Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, portioning proteins, and other mise en place tasks.
  • Cook menu items in coordination with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure timely and consistent plating.
  • Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station throughout service.
  • Properly store, rotate, and stock inventory to support smooth kitchen operations.
  • Ensure all dishes are completed to high quality standards and served simultaneously when required.
  • Follow all sanitation, food safety, nutrition, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and interact professionally with customers when needed.
  • Support back-of-house operations and assist with additional kitchen tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proven cooking experience in a professional kitchen, such as Chef de Partie, Restaurant Cook, Line Cook, or Prep Cook.
  • Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and standard culinary procedures.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience following recipes, portioning standards, and chef instructions with consistency.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene best practices.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Culinary school diploma preferred but not required.
  • Must hold a European passport.
  • Must currently be living and working in Ireland or the UK for at least 2 years.
  • Must have recent experience in the hospitality or customer service industry.
  • Must be available for interviews in July/August.
  • Must be available to work from October through the end of May.
  • Must be able to secure a clean police certificate if successfully hired.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
