Job Description:

Our client is a well-established Irish retail business known for delivering a premium customer experience through a carefully curated range of Irish design, gifts, fashion, homeware, and artisan products. With a strong focus on quality, heritage, and exceptional service, they pride themselves on creating a welcoming and engaging shopping environment for both local and international customers.

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Deputy Store Manager to join the retail team in Co. Clare. This role will suit an energetic and customer-focused retail professional who is passionate about leading teams, driving sales, and delivering excellence across all aspects of store operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Store Manager to support the daily running of the store while helping to drive commercial performance, operational standards, and team development.


The Role

The Deputy Store Manager will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in delivering store targets, maintaining exceptional customer service standards, and leading a motivated retail team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on management role requiring strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for retail excellence.

Typical shifts include:

  • 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • 8:30am – 5:30pm

Late evening trading applies:

  • May to September – until 8:30pm
  • December – until 9:00pm


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience and maintain premium service standards
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the retail team
  • Drive sales performance and achieve store KPIs and targets
  • Support staff training and development, particularly in customer service and product knowledge
  • Maintain excellent operational standards across all areas of the store
  • Assist with stock management, merchandising, cash handling, and store administration
  • Ensure company procedures and policies are consistently implemented
  • Build positive relationships with customers and team members alike
  • Support seasonal trading demands and peak business periods


About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about retail and customer service
  • An experienced retail supervisor, assistant manager, or deputy manager
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and approachable
  • A strong people leader with excellent communication skills
  • Commercially aware with experience driving sales and KPIs
  • Organised, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Naturally engaging with customers and confident building relationships
  • Flexible in their approach to working hours and operational needs
