Data Center Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Data Center Technician to join onsite operations in North Dublin on a fixed-term contract lasting 3 to 12 months. This role supports critical data center infrastructure and is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable working in a hands-on environment, and interested in building a career in IT infrastructure.

You will work closely with Data Center Engineers and site operations teams to support rack installation activities, server decommissioning, and other essential physical infrastructure tasks. This is a highly practical role that requires attention to detail, adherence to strict procedures, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Decommission servers and related hardware in line with site procedures and operational standards.
• Support rack installation and equipment handling activities within the data center.
• Lift, move, and position servers and equipment safely, following all manual handling guidelines.
• Work closely with Data Center Engineers and site teams to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Follow strict operational procedures, checklists, and health & safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area within the data center environment.
• Report issues, discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to the relevant team members.
• Adapt to working in confined spaces, elevated areas, noisy conditions, and temperature-controlled environments.

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, including familiarity with servers, hard drives, and related components.
• Ability and willingness to follow detailed procedures and operational instructions precisely.

• Fluent English, both spoken and written, is required.
• Interest in IT infrastructure, hardware, and data center operations.
• Physical capability to lift and move equipment weighing approximately 12–18kg.

• Commitment to health & safety practices and manual handling best practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work onsite in North Dublin for the duration of the contract.
• Previous experience in a data center, warehouse, technical support, or hardware-related environment is beneficial but not essential.
