Job Description:

Overview

As a Staff Nurse in our Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. Your work will promote dignity, respect, and compassion in all aspects of care while upholding professional standards and contributing positively to a supportive team environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Deliver care that upholds the dignity, privacy, and individuality of each resident.
  • Act as a Named Nurse, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed accurately and maintained to a high standard.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors, offering support and reassurance, including during times of bereavement.
  • Ensure organisational policies, procedures, and care standards are understood and consistently followed by staff.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Safely manage the administration, storage, and control of medications in accordance with policy.
  • Demonstrate awareness of national quality and regulatory standards and actively participate in inspection processes.
  • Coordinate resident admissions in line with established procedures, ensuring all required documentation is completed.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to support effective discharge planning and continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • First-level nursing qualification.
  • Active registration on the NMBI live register.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Sound clinical judgement and decision-making ability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead and support colleagues.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Committed to delivering high standards of care and achieving positive outcomes.
